In celebration of UP Pride Month 2020, UP College of Engineering Library (Engglib) is hosting a Webinar titled “Reading is Fundamental: The Human Library is Now Open” on 30 June 2020, at 2:00 PM. Topics to be discussed are “Navigating Life and Law for the Filipino LGBTQ+” and “Transgender and Empowered”. This webinar will feature guest speakers Atty. Leo Rey Almero, and Ms. Ava Villanueva of STRAP (Society of the Transsexual Women of the Philippines). This event is meant to facilitate conversations between people, and aims to break down stereotypes and preconceived notions that humans have about others; consisting of human “books” who tell their stories, and “readers” or participants who engage in conversations with these books.
